Abstract
This study evaluated the effects of dietary turmeric (Curcuma longa) and cumin (Cuminum cyminum) powder, added to a wheat-based diet, on performance, immune response, and some carcass characteristics of broiler chickens. Two hundred one-day-old male Ross-308 broiler chicks were allocated to a completely randomized design with five treatments, four replicates, and ten birds per replicate, and reared for 42 days. The experimental treatments consisted of a basal diet without additive (control), basal diets containing 0.25% and 0.5% turmeric powder, and basal diets containing 0.25% and 0.5% cumin powder. Body weight gain during the starter period (0-21 d) and the overall period (0-42 d) was significantly higher in treatments 3, 4, and 5 (0-21 d) and in the 0.5% turmeric and 0.5% cumin groups (0-42 d) than in the control group (P
